Racing at HYC

Harbor Yacht Club runs one of the most active racing programs on the coast, with three fleets and over 15 series throughout the year.

One-Design Fleets

J/24 Fleet

Our largest fleet with 18 active boats. Wednesday night beer-can races from April through October, plus Spring and Fall Championship series. The J/24 is the perfect boat for competitive yet accessible one-design racing.

Lightning Fleet

12 boats racing most weekends from March through November. The Lightning Class offers exciting tactical racing in a classic three-person dinghy.

PHRF Fleet

Open to any keelboat with a valid PHRF rating. Our handicap fleet races monthly distance events and the popular Summer Sunset Series on Thursday evenings. Corrected-time scoring ensures competitive racing across boat types.
